This week on Radio Civil Liberties, The ACLU and NACDL are assembling defense teams to be available to assist in the representation of detainees facing prosecution at Guantánamo.

The John Adams Project: Standing Up for Justice In The Military Commissions Proceedings.
The ACLU and the NACDL are taking this step because of the grave concerns that the Guantanamo military commissions process does not reflect our nations commitment to justice and due process. The military commissions’ authorization of the use of coerced evidence possibly derived from torture, secret evidence, and hearsay is unconstitutional and counter to American traditions of fairness and justice.
Radio Civil Liberties revisits the failing state of Juvenile Justice System in New York, as we learned that NY State's new budget makes provisions to keep open facilities in this failing system despite the fact that overwhelming evidence --and even the state itself--admit that there are more cost effective means to properly intervene and assist these at-risk youth.
